Did you know that… Most children are not screened for visual function before age three?
3 TO 5% OF PRESCHOOLERS HAVE VISUAL PROBLEMS THAT CAN LEAD TO AMBLYOPIA
Amblyopia is the leading cause of monocular blindness (blindness in one eye)
It is a permanent loss of vision in one eye.
It can develop as a result of different information coming from the two eyes
It can be successfully prevented if the factors that cause it are detected and treated early
VISION SCREENING FOR AMBLYOPIA
Analysis of the photos provides information about inappropriate focusing, differences in refraction between the eyes, and deviation of the eyes.
Lions SEE is a program run by Lions from accross New Your State for screening
of pre-school children (Ages 1 to 5) for amblyopia "Lazy Eye".
