The mission of Lions SEE, Inc. (Screening Eyes Early) is to decrease childhood blindness through early detection and treatment of the most common vision disorders that cause Amblyopia; insuring that all children of New York State will be able to SEE their future

Lions SEE, Inc
Lions "Screening Eyes Early"

Free vision screening program run by Lions from accross New Your Stateto help identify pre-school children (Ages 1 to 5) with or at risk for amblyopia "Lazy Eye". The program is offered by your local Lions Clubs in collaboration with the Lions SEE Program at the Ira G. Ross Eye Institute

Did you know that… Most children are not screened for visual function before age three?
3 TO 5% OF PRESCHOOLERS HAVE VISUAL PROBLEMS THAT CAN LEAD TO AMBLYOPIA
Amblyopia is the leading cause of monocular blindness (blindness in one eye)
It is a permanent loss of vision in one eye.
It can develop as a result of different information coming from the two eyes
It can be successfully prevented if the factors that cause it are detected and treated early
VISION SCREENING FOR AMBLYOPIA
Analysis of the photos provides information about inappropriate focusing, differences in refraction between the eyes, and deviation of the eyes.
